The Alzheimer’s Association held its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s this past weekend at the Detroit Zoo, and the team at Olsman MacKenzie Peacock and Wallace were there in force!
This is the first time in 3 years the walk has been at the Detroit Zoo. This location has it all, fun, food, and a lot of great people committed to the cause.
“We encourage people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to help us take the first step toward a world without Alzheimer’s by joining us for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s,” said Jennifer Lepard, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter. “More than 6 million people in the U.S. are living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and it is estimated that this year alone, the disease will cost the country $321 billion. This event helps us provide care and support for the more than 190,000 Michiganders affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and helps us to fund important research to end this terrible disease.”
The Detroit Walk to End Alzheimer’s has raised more than $3 million for Alzheimer’s and dementia care, support, and research over the last five years. Olsman MacKenzie Peacock & Wallace has participated in the Walk since 2013. “Supporting the Alzheimer Association is important to our firm because this devastating disease afflicts many of our clients and their families,” said Donna MacKenzie. “Almost half of nursing home residents live with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Through our work in the courtroom, our team is able to hold nursing homes accountable when residents with Alzheimer’s are not provided with the care they deserve. Through our support of the Alzheimer’s Association, we are able to help accelerate global research, drive risk reduction and early detection, and maximize quality care and support.” We hope you will consider joining us in 2023!
