Negligent Driver Hits and Injures Man in Wheelchair

car accident injuryWolfgang Mueller has filed suit on behalf of a 71-year-old man who was struck by a car, driven by a distracted driver, early in the afternoon on March 8, 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan.

Mr. M, who was in his wheelchair at the time of the accident, was crossing an intersection when Ms. D ran into him with her vehicle.  Ms. D failed to come to a full stop at a stop sign, and neglected to check the crosswalk in front of her for vehicular and pedestrian traffic, because she was looking over her left shoulder at the time of the crash.  Weather and road conditions at the time of the accident were not a factor as the day was clear, sunny, and dry.

As a result of Ms. D’s negligence, Mr. M suffered multiple and severe injuries including; traumatic brain bleeding which required complicated emergency surgery to relieve, six broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and spinal fractures in both his lower back and sacrum.  Mr. M is now bedridden and has been unable to return to his normal daily activities and routine because of the severity of the injuries and the great amount of pain he continues to endure.  His medical bills are now in excess of $500,000.
